Tourism In Argentina

Argentina is a large country in South America famous for its tango, the pampas and beef consumption. Less well known is the fact that the highest peak in the Americas, Aconcagua, lies on its western border and that the southernmost city in the world, Ushuaia, is located on its lower shore.
Perhaps the most obvious reason to visit Argentina is Buenos Aires, one of the most fascinating of all Latin American capitals. It’s an immensely enjoyable place just to wander about, watch soccer, go shopping or simply soaking up the unique atmosphere. Outside the capital, the vastness of the land and the varied wildlife inhabiting it are the real tourist attractions in Argentina.
Located in the southern region of South America in a large, elongated shape, Argentina is famous for its tango, thepampas and beef consumption. Less well known is the fact that the highest peak in the Americas, Aconcagua, lies on its western border and that the southernmost city in the world, Ushuaia, is located on its lower shore. Argentina was sparsely inhabited by a few indigenous tribes before Spain’s colonized it in the 16th and 17th centuries. Today, the country is an independent republic featuring varied landscapes from rich plains to thick jungle, majestic mountains, pastoral steppes and impressive glaciers.
The capital city, Buenos Aires, is one of the world’s most vivacious cities with its tango dancing, colorful barrios, sizzling nightlife and outstanding arts and culture. The vastPantagonia region offers awe-inspiring glaciers, ice bergs and mountains while Mendoza presents the rolling scenery of Latin America’s largest wine region. San Carlos de Barilocheenchants visitors with its Swiss-like village, Mar del Plata lures many to its fabulous beaches, and Cordoba charms with its colonial architecture. The Peninsula Valdes offers once-in-a-lifetime adventures and wildlife viewing of whales, seals, penguins and sea lions. The planet’s southernmost city, Ushuaia, is a fantastic departure for Antarctica cruises.
Food in Argentina is as stimulating as its attractions and culture. Due to the country’s European influences, there is a wide variety of European cuisines in addition to several others from around the world. Beef is a major part of the local diet, and barbecued beef, known as asado, is most common. A dinner of asado with a salad and locally produced wine is the best way to experience Argentine cuisine. A popular drink is mate, an herbal drink traditionally served in a gourd.
Tourists can get around Argentina by domestic flights, long distance buses, trains and rental cars.
