The United Arab Emirates is a constitutional federation of seven emirates; Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm al-Qaiwain, Ras al-Khaimah and Fujairah. The federation was formally established on 2 December 1971.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) occupies an area of 83,600 sq km along the south-eastern tip of the Arabian Peninsula. Qatar lies to the west, Saudi Arabia to the south and west, and Oman to the north and east. The capital and the largest city of the federation, Abu Dhabi, is located in the emirate of the same name.













Four-fifths of the UAE is desert, yet it is a country of contrasting landscapes, from awe-inspiring dunes to rich oases, precipitous rocky mountains to fertile plains.

It is really worth to visit this spot for tourists who have come with their family on tours to Abu Dhabi. Ice skating lessons are available for beginners at the Abu Dhabi Ice Rink. There are lessons for ice hockey on the weekends at this Abu Dhabi attraction. A day is set aside for teaching ladies. A reasonable fee is charged for these lessons. Membership is available for three, six and twelve months. Ice hockey training and matches are on Saturday and Sunday. It is a great fun, but remembers to take a sweater.
Figure skating is a featured activity at the Abu Dhabi Ice Rink for more than 10 years, and the rink has offered lessons taught by professional ice skating coaches for over 5 years. Skaters come from more than 15 different countries and Skater’s ages range from 5 to above 30.

The Cultural Foundation comprises the National Archives, theNational Library and the Institute of Culture and Art and it is operated under the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage.

The Qasr Al Hosn Fort (Al-Hosn Palace) is the former home of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. The interior courtyard is a haven of tranquility in traditional Arab style, in marked contrast with the glass and concrete of the modern city beyond its walls. Al Hosn Palace also commonly called as the Old Fort or the WhiteFort is the oldest building in Abu Dhabi. The center holds a collection of documents on the heritage and history of the UAE and the Gulf region. The courtyard and the magnificent tile work over the main north gate are outstanding features. There is a museum of traditional artifacts and historical photographs within the palace. Displays include a natural history section featuring animal life from the desert and historical section with displays of the history of Abu Dhabi as well as pottery and other artifacts.
